This past Saturday my friend, attorney Misty Allen, told me she had an invite to a fun store party in East Hampton. Calypso St. Barth was co-hosting a shopping event with What2WearWhere.com and the Riverkeeper Jr Council for the East End Generation Green Committee to benefit the Group for the East End, Peconic Baykeeper and Riverkeeper. These three environmental groups seek to protect and preserve the integrity of our natural environment. Riverkeeper in particular has gotten a lot of PR because its a favorite cause of the Kennedys.
DJ Flo was spinning and there were lots of cute clothes to be tempted by. In attendance were designer Annie Churchill Albert, Amanda Hearst (founding member Riverkeeper and Group for the East End co-chair), publicist R. Couri Hay, and Ari Meisel (founding member East End Generation Green Committee).
What2WearWhere.com is a cool new website founded by Karen Klopp dedicated to helping today’s busy working women make decisions about what 2 wear to different occasions (where). The site cleverly breaks clothing into different categories: life’s event, workplace, sports & adventure, travel, and packing. I met Karen at the event and she is a dynamic, positive individual. A life long conservationist she also served on the Board of Directors of Riverkeeper.
FYI, for the month of June, What2WearWhere.com will donate 50% of it’s online sales to these causes so be sure to check out the website!
