Today’s shows: Peter Som, Rag & Bone, Jason Wu, Rebecca Taylor, Cushnie et Ochs, Rebecca Minkoff, Charlotte Ronson, Gregory Parkinson, Pamela Love, Nahm and Correll Correll.
Pamela Love: Industrial Revolution was on Pamela Love’s mind for this Fall presentation as
evident by the u top/leather apron clad models stood draped in geometric bronze
collars that though architectural still appeared delicate. Tough girl cuffs and statement
earrings were not neglected, thank goodness for the many Love devotees…p.s. please bring
back your tees Pam!
Nahm: So glad their was no conflict of shows, as this collective was not to be missed! Nary Manivorg and Ally Hilfiger, duo behind Nahm showcased a harmonious assembly of brocade velvets, lace, (prevalent so far,but more on that post NYFW), and printed silk, (Egyptian motif, by far
most pleasing thus..!). Blair Waldorf will be salivating…and she will have plenty of company.
Rebecca Minkoff: Moxie is not an expression of common speak, but it is right on target when describing Rebecca Minkoff’s Fall runway muse. Original pairings included: biker/collar shirt/sequin pants, (very Olivia Palermo, front row btw), bomber/shearling hoodie/print shift dress,(hello Coco Rocha,oh Here!), tweed blazer/chiffon tee/leather racer skirt, (Kristin Chenoweth anyone? In the house…). These style setters can’t be wrong folks, check it out.
Gregory Parkinson: One cannot accuse Gregory Parkinson, former Vogue Fashion Fund nominee and Cali resident, of shying from a bold statement. Embroidered silks, lace appliqués, cut velvet, metal organza, washed cloques and a bit of fur found on one ensemble alone, yet what a harmonious symphony sound! Rich and bohemian a la Midnight in Paris…. Snatch worthy: combat belts accented with sequined lace and TenThousanThings glass neck bits that recalled xmas tree globe ornaments…
CorrellCorrell: Ecco Domani winners, sisters Daphne and Vera Correll unveiled their collection for the first time this season. Sheer paneled drop waist chemises and tailored trousers complemented signature knotty knits and subtly embellished separates. Navy, carillion, aubergine and rouge for color, wish list: metallic knit tee and ‘fringe’ collared cardi…..
#NYFW: Saturday, Feb 11, 2012
Today’s shows (Saturday, Feb 11): Alexander Wang led the pack Saturday with super model Gisele Bündchen headling his show (and Natasha Poly, and Karolina Kurkova) and a full house in the front row. Also today — Lacoste, Prabal Gurung, Rachel Zoe, Band of Outsiders, Gwen Stefani’s L.A.M.B. presentation, Rachel Antonoff and Altuzarra.
Spotted in Alexander Wang’s Front Row — Shala Monroque, Carine and Julia Restoin Roitfeld, Peter Brandt, Fern Malis, Ninja and Yo Landi from Die Antwoord, Terry Richardson and Vogue Italia’s Franca Sozzani, Paris Vogue’s Emmanuelle Alt, Gaia Repossi, Tim Blanks and Giovanna Battaglia, Garance Dore, W’s Stefano Tonchi, Style.com’s Nicole Phelps, and more.
Andre Saraiva‘s debut his new show “Love Letters” show at Half Gallery, owned by Bill Powers from Bravo’s Work of Art who also happens to be married to Cynthia Rowley. Later that night …
Jeweler / actor Waris Ahluwalia teamed up with Lauren Santo Domingo‘s MODA OPERANDI to host a party atop The Standard at the Boom Boob room. Society girls gathered for a performance by Spank Rock and Blood Orange including Hayley Bloomingdale, Annelise Peterson, Hope Atherton, Claire & Virginie Courtin-Clarins, Arden Wohl, Tara Subkoff, Derek Blasberg, and more.
Rachel Antonoff: Her most polished presentation to date without losing her distinct humor; Rachel Antonoff’s Naval themed show entertained and pleased. Peter pan collared silk printed dresses, pocket detailed shorts and skirts and a silk screened sweatshirt will be coming home for sure! Bass and Antonoff kickers included ankle strap skimmers and platform lace ups! Pal Alia Shawkat impressed and transported with her lovely vocal skills…. you go Sailor.
Anndra Neen: Former Dorchester Collection Fashion Prize winners, sisters Phoebe and Annette Stephens wowed with another special collection. Paper sculptures by artist Matthew Sporzynski blended with cuffs, neck-ware and clutches weaving a story nature and wonder. Illustrator Linda Chamberlain lent to the scene with mad miniature figures, all a treat!
We noticed a noteworthy trio together in the kitchen of Andre’s new Baron in NY — Jean Dujardin (The Artist), Andre Saraiva (Le Baron) and Guillaume Canet (French film director and ex-husband of Diane Kruger).
