Local Soiree: The Supper Club Men’s Wimbledon Viewing Party

The invitation read ‘Wimbledon Whites’ and to come watch the Men’s Finals on the big screen this past Sunday at the home of L.A. playwright Frank Strausser in Holmby Hills hosted by the L.A. chapter of The Supper Club while the NY chapter also had a coinciding celebration of their own. Hats, sunglasses, and swimwear were recommended to those who came and took a dip in the pool, relaxed on the lawn, and perused the English newspapers scattered about for the mood. A British inspired menu was served (with a healthy California twist) and delicious handcrafted Hendrick’s gin cocktails.

Hor Dourves:
Herb Bellini with Smoked Salmon and Creme Fraiche
Crostini with Fresh Figs, Mascarpone and Caramelized Honey
Placed Tea and Coffee Station
Crumpets with a Variety of Locally Made Preserves and Organic Butter

Variety of Tea Sandwiches
Fig Spread with Prosciutto and Manchengo Cheese on Walnut Bread
Heirloom Tomato Caprese on a Mini Baguette with a Basil Pesto
Roasted Turkey Salad with Lemon and Tarragon on Ciabatta

Grilled Chicken and Apple Sausage
Quiche with Smoked Ham, Goat Cheese and Leeks
Potato Salad with Blue Cheese and Bacon Lardons

Organic Strawberries served in an individual bowl topped with Organic Cream

Hendrick’s Gin, Pimm’s #1 Liqueur, Muddled Cucumber, Fresh Citrus, Mint,
Topped with Q Ginger Ale

– 1 oz Hendrick’s
– 1 oz Pimm’s
– 0.5oz fresh lime juice
– 1 wedge orange
– 1 wheel cucumber
–  3 mint leaves
– Top with 3oz Q ginger ale

*In mixing glass, muddle orange, cucumber, and mint. Add remaining
ingredients except ginger ale. Add ice, shake, and strain into glass
over ice and top with ginger ale. Stir to reintroduce ingredients and
garnish with orange slice, mint sprig, and cucumber twist.

Hendrick’s Gin, Fresh Local Strawberries, Rhubarb Tea, Fresh Lime Juice,
Topped with Vanilla Cream Soda

-1.5oz Hendrick’s Gin
-0.75oz Strawberry Puree
-0.5oz Rhubarb Tea
-0.5oz Lime juice
-Top with 2oz Vanilla Cream Soda
*Combine ingredients except cream soda into mixing glass, add ice, and
shake. Strain into glass over ice and top with cream soda. Stir with
rhubarb stalk to reintroduce ingredients and garnish with fresh red rhubarb stalk placed vertically in cocktail with organic strawberry on rim.
