Annual Golden Globes Party List 2013

Well, it’s our favorite time of year again Trufflers … Once the presents are unwrapped and resolutions are made, the little children in Hollywood  turn their yuletide cheer and goodwill towards man to the more important things in life … Swag, free couture and little shiny statues. Now there are the big three — Oscars, Grammys, and Golden Globes — but there are also 75+ other award shows and film fests that will occur in the next two months (see our calendar for specifics).

The first of which — The Golden Globes — is this Sunday and as any good studio executive knows … if you have award winning talent or titles, tis’ the season for an after party.

We shall start with post Grammys on Sunday and work our way backwards to tonight. The same parties occur every year at the Beverly Hilton hotel on Sunday night where the ceremony is held. NBC has a viewing party and after party on the roof of the garage, HBO takes over the pool area, the Weinstein’s traditionally rent out the old Trader Vic’s, Fox transforms the Robinsons May parking lot across Merv Griffin Way, while Sony hosts theirs in the 8th floor Stardust Room, and last but not least Warner Bros. and InStyle team up for their after party in a tent on the Beverly Hilton property.

The other usual suspects are the agencies — CAA, ICM, UTA, WME and perhaps we will see a new party starting soon with the up-start of former ICM head Jeff Berg’s new agency. New parties mean new venues and new venues means new cute foods from Wolfgang Puck who has the lock on all awards season catering. We shall keep our ears open and so should you …

Other regular parties scheduled from year to year are W Magazine Party now annual party to held Friday at the Chateau Marmont and Showtime’s party held at the same hotel the following eve (Saturday). Paramount Pictures holds their party on their lot Melrose Avenue studio lot — why not? Everyone else does.

Vanity Fair is opting out of parties this month — saving all their pennies for Oscar week and their annual Oscar blow out.

Some new events on the agenda include Ron Meyer’s party at Spago for his Universal film Les Mis on Sat.

There are a few teas and lunches of note: the Spirit Awards Nominee Brunch @ Boa, the AFI Awards lunch @ Four Seasons, and the BAFTA/LA Awards Season Tea Party — also at the Four Seasons.

Little Frannie Eastwood and the son of Michael J. Fox will help pass out the Globes on stage this year — guiding winners on and off the stage as Miss & Mr Golden Globe — an honor bestowed on children of Hollywood Royalty.

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will host the show will airs at 5pm PST on NBC.
