Roll call: LACMA’s Michael Govan, Bella Hunter and RH CEO Gary Friedman, RH Gallery Leader Stefan Duban, Dylan Penn (oui, daughter of Sean & Robin), David Bohnett (who gave the LA Phil $20 million which is their largest donation in history! ok, second but still!), stylist Erica Pelosini, Craig Cardon, Nico Golfar, BJ Panda Bear (carrying a cross), Jen Egan (formerly of Gen Art), Magda Berliner, twinsies Sama & Haya Khadra (better know as @samahaya), Kelly Lynch, Sarah Howard, Rachel Zalis, stylist Nola Singer, Stefanie Keenan (who was shooting the event), Courtenay Semel, Gelila Puck (wife of Wolfie), Jennifer Smith Hale (formerly of C Magazine), artist Alexander Yulish (who has a show at Ace in Beverly Hills right now), Allegra Salke from The A List, Jackie Gonzales looking very Jackie O, and more, all spotted at the opening of the Rain Room at LACMA last night!
Here’s the story:
For all you control freaks out there (and the cost of admission), LACMA has enabled you to control the weather!
Recycled water falls from the sky around sensors that start and stop it based on where you are, leaving a rainless cone of dryness around you wherever you walk. The floors are grated for the water to fall through and get recycled back up to the ceiling (ladies, watch the heels). Even the opening night, because only a certain can fit in the Rain Room at once, there was a line through the lobby level of BCAM… around the maze from LACMA’s permanent collection, the DJ, two bars and beyond … However, for *VVIPs, Instagramers, sneaky ones, and people with amazing blogs, we we’re walked through a back entrance and given two minutes in the center of the Rain Room to get our “Flashdance” shots in!
RAIN ROOM at LACMA (in BCAM) Open November 1, 2015 – March 6, 2016 (You need to reserve a spot and buy tickets: http://www.lacma.org/rainroom#about)
